The 1st INF World Balance Combat World Cup was successfully held in Tokyo, Japan, from June 25–28, bringing together more than 100 athletes from 10 countries for a memorable celebration of Nanbudo’s Balance Combat discipline.

The inaugural World Cup demonstrated the sporting appeal, dynamism and accessibility of Balance Combat, a discipline designed to combine technical skill, movement, strategy and combat spirit while remaining suitable for athletes of different ages and levels. The event showed its potential as a true sport for all, offering exciting competition in a safe and engaging format.

The Spanish team emerged as the most successful delegation, achieving excellent results across the competition. Strong performances were also delivered by athletes from the host nation Japan, China and Croatia, contributing to the high sporting level and international character of the event.

The Japanese hosts deserve special recognition for their excellent organisation and warm hospitality. From the first arrival to the closing of the competition, participants were made to feel welcome and part of the Nanbudo family. Their dedication played an important role in making the first edition of the World Cup a success.

The INF World Balance Combat World Cup has established an important new platform for the development and promotion of the discipline worldwide. Following the success of its inaugural edition in Tokyo, the International Nanbudo Federation looks forward to continuing the Balance Combat World Cup series and welcoming athletes from an even greater number of countries in future editions.
