Professor Petar Turkovic’s book: 40 years of Gradec Nanbudo Club and Nanbudo Sport in Croatia was promoted on Nov. 30, in Zagreb, Croatia’s Journalist Association’s hall. More than 120 people from Croatian Olympic Committee, Zagreb Sport Association, City of Zagreb, many sport federations and friends from more than 10 countries from all over the world, came to honor this promotion. The book was introduced by pioneer of karate in Croatia Dr. Berislav Jandric, Sankukai world champion from 1976, Vjekoslav Safranic and the author himself. Tanja Alisic, representing the Mayor of Zagreb greeted everyone and expressed congratulations in the name of the City Mayor M. Milan Bandic. One of the members of the original Gradec club, and member of the team that won bronze medal on the 1st Nanbudo European championship in Naples 1980, Neven Mrzlecki, played and sang the spanish version of „My Way“ song on the guitar the end of the promotion. This extraordinary edition covers the history of nanbudo sport not only in Croatia, but in the whole world as it describes all major competitions and champions on European and World championships from 1980 to 2018, as well as it gives the complete origine of nanbudo and its place in today’s world of martial art sports. Book is published as a bilingual edition Croatian/English, so it reaches nanbudokas around the world.
